Sports Performance and Conditioning
Core conditioning sports-specific assessments of joint range-of-motion, muscular strength, endurance, and power based assessments upon motor patterns of a particular sport. These assessments aid the conditioning specialist in formulating a training program specific to the needs and addressing the weaknesses of a particular individual. We are thoroughly educated in human physiology and kinesiology and base their skill on a firm grasp of human biomechanics and sports-specific motor patterns.

Golf Conditioning
Do you want to play more, hit further, feel better, and have people ask you what you are doing? Among all athletic activities, The Huntsville Health Team is most renowned for its golf-specific assessment and conditioning programs. Thomas Amsden, our Certified Golf Biomechanic, leads our golf conditioning activities. Take advantage of our scientific approach to golf conditioning. Golfers are athletes and like any athlete, they require well-designed conditioning programs to excel. The physiological stress placed on the body during a golf swing are similar to those experienced by professional hockey and football players. Generate higher club head speed, increase your competitiveness, lower your handicap, and eliminate injuries and back pain.

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) for injuries and pain relief
Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) is a cutting-edge, biomechanics-based therapy, designed to correct body alignment and to improve each client's functional capabilities while decreasing pain levels. MAT is a systematic process of identifying muscle imbalances that can increase the risk of injury and decrease performance. MAT balances the body, eliminating weak links that would otherwise be reinforced with exercise. Essentially, this system prepares the body for activities such as rehabilitation, exercise, sports, or jobs that require a high level of physical fitness. MAT also reduces the risk of injury by making sure that all of the muscles in the body are functioning properly.

A MAT therapist's goal is to determine whether specific muscles that support a particular joint have the proper ability necessary to perform their function. A MAT therapist assesses each muscle by isolated muscle testing and evaluating range of motion of a joint. With both of these tools, a Muscle Activation Therapist can identify positions of instability which could be potential areas of injury and poor performance. Currently, approximately 100 Muscle Activation Techniques therapists exist in the world.

The end result is to not only an increase in joint motion, but increased joint stability through the range of motion (Mobility & Stability). These hands-on techniques can drastically improve flexibility, strength, endurance, and control. Benefits are immediate. MAT stimulates the neuromuscular loop, unleashing your body's natural abilities.

Personal Training
Professional training consists of fitness instruction by a qualified personal trainer, one-on-one or in a group setting. Depending on the specific goals of an individual, a program will be created for a client to follow, either with the assistance of a professional trainer, or on his or her own. It is recommended that an exercise program be changed every 4-6 weeks by a professional trainer.

Nutrition
Transform your health with a diet and nutrition plan tailored just for you. Our personal health analysis of your blood and hair gives you the answers to your long term health. You learn what deficiencies and potential problems exist in your body and where you could benefit from additional nutritional support. From there, we develop a high quality supplement program that will get you feeling and preforming at your peak. We use nutrition to heal the body and support optimal function instead of using drugs to mask symptoms while the body continues to degenerate.
